Hi,
I'm Sam from Buds and Blooms Flower Farm.
Located in the quiet village of Puketapu, Hawkes Bay.
Gardening has always been a huge part of my life and has been largely influenced by my mum Vicky-Jane and my late grandmother Dora.
As a child I have fond memories of picking flowers for the guest bedrooms if we had people coming to stay or arranging flowers for table centerpieces at Christmas or family occasions.
So for all intents and purposes - Flowers and gardening are in my DNA.
My husband Chris and I have two beautiful daughters. Isabella, closely followed by Amelia 15 months later!
Which left me wondering - who am I now after becoming a mum? What are my interests other than being a mum?
One day upon scrolling Instagram I stumbled across a page of a small flower farm filled with dahlias and cut flowers. I thought ‘I could do that. We have the land, I love gardening and I adore flowers’.
Late 2022 was the beginning of Buds and Blooms and the start of my passion for growing beautiful flowers. Thankfully I have an amazing husband whom I couldn’t have created the farm without. The first season came with a huge amount of learning, a few mistakes but a lot of success.
I found a passion for growing cut flowers so I completely immersed myself into learning everything I could.
This coming year I am so excited to be selling Dahlia tubers BUT also a gorgeous selection of French Ranunculus seeds and plants. Plants will be available late Autumn/early Winter.
Alot of love has gone into growing my flowers and plants so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
