SOW - FEB-APRIL
Germination Time - 14-28 days
Surface sow and lightly cover with vermiculite or soil.

Ranunculus are pretty easy to germinate - they just take a little longer than some seeds. They can be a little precious about the heat - so make sure it's not too hot. Albeit they may still germinate but the strike rate may be impacted.

Make sure to keep the soil moist at all times.

During the early growth stages about 3-4 weeks post germinating you may find that they look like they are not growing very fast. Be rest assured they are doing all the growing under the soil. All of a sudden the plant will take off and be ready to plant out once you have 4-5 true leaves on the plant.

Plant in full sun or partial shade. Ranunculus thrive in the cool of spring and start to die back as it heats up towards summer.

Ranunculus planted from seed will produce a corm over the growing season which can be harvested once the leaves turn yellow and die back.
Ranunculus corms can be harvested by trimming back the stalk and storing in a dry warm place over summer to be regrown the following year.
