Hello,

My name is Samantha, and I’m the founder of Buds & Blooms Flower Farm, located in the charming village of Puketapu, Hawke’s Bay.

Gardening has always been a significant part of my life, a passion deeply rooted in the influence of my mum, Vicky-Jane, and my late grandmother, Dora. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of picking fresh flowers for guest rooms or creating centerpieces for family celebrations.

You could say flowers and gardening are part of my DNA.

My husband, Chris, and I are proud parents to two beautiful daughters—Isabella and Amelia, just 15 months apart. After becoming a mum, I found myself asking, Who am I now? What brings me joy outside of motherhood?

While scrolling through Instagram one day, I came across a small flower farm bursting with dahlias and other cut flowers. It sparked something in me. I thought, I could do that—we have the land, I love to garden, and I’ve always adored flowers.

And so, in late 2022, Buds & Blooms Flower Farm was born.

With the unwavering support of Chris, I dove headfirst into growing and learning everything I could about cut flowers—especially dahlias. Our first season brought plenty of lessons, a few mistakes, and many rewarding successes.

I’m thrilled to now be offering a selection of cut flowers for retail, events or wholesale purchase. I am very excited to be offering Dahlia tubers for sale, as well as a stunning selection of seeds harvested on the farm and of course French and Italian Ranunculus seeds available NOV/DEC every year. 

A lot of heart and hard work has gone into growing these flowers, and it brings me so much joy to share them with others. I hope they bring beauty and inspiration to your garden, just as they have to mine.
