What is a dahlia tuber?
A dahlia tuber is a swollen root that stores energy and grows into a beautiful flowering dahlia plant. Each tuber contains an “eye” or growing point, which is where the new stem will sprout. Tubers are planted in spring after the risk of frost has passed.
How should I store my dahlia tubers once I receive them?
If you’re not planting immediately, store your tubers in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. A cardboard box filled with dry wood shavings or sawdust works well. Avoid storing in plastic bags or containers that could trap moisture and cause rot.
When should I plant my dahlia tubers?
Dahlias should be planted in early to mid-spring, once the soil has warmed and the risk of frost is gone. In most parts of New Zealand, this is around September to October.
How do I plant my dahlia tubers?
Plant your tubers about 10–15 cm deep in well-draining soil with the growing eye facing upwards. Space them 30–40 cm apart. Dahlias love full sun and benefit from regular watering and feeding throughout the growing season.

Please check your order as soon as it arrives. If there are any issues with quality or quantity, contact us within 48 hours so we can help make it right.
Do you offer refunds?
We only offer refunds for faulty or damaged items. We are unable to accept returns or provide refunds for change of mind purchases. Please contact us ASAP if you have an issue with your products.
Do you ship internationally?
At this stage, we only ship within New Zealand—no international orders, sorry!
